Responsibilities:
· This is a technical lead role within our cloud infrastructure and DevOps team. We are looking for a Senior engineer who is expected to be hands on and contribute to our Infra-as-code repos within Azure.
· Design, deploy, document & maintain Kubernetes based production platforms for a variety of different workloads in Azure.
· Work with engineering teams to develop and improve our CI / CD pipelines that enforce proper versioning and branching practices using technologies like Github, Github Actions, ArgoCD, Kubernetes, Docker and Terraform for the deployment of applications to the Azure cloud platform.
· Collaborate in architecture discussions and architectural decision making that is part of continually improving and expanding these platforms.
· Ensure the security and compliance of Kubernetes infrastructure in Azure.
· Mentor and train junior DevOps engineers to grow the team's capabilities.
· Stay up-to-date with the latest Azure technologies and advancements and provide recommendations for improvement.
· Develop tooling to improve the efficiency of CI/CD pipelines and Azure infrastructure.
· Evaluate and support onboarding of 3rd party SaaS applications or work with teams to integrate new tools and services into existing apps.
· Participate and drive our bi-monthly sprint planning and retrospectives.
· Evaluate new technologies POCs, attend talks and conference for career & team growth.
Skills
· You have built multi-tenant Kubernetes clusters in Azure from scratch using terraform and have run production workloads which demand a high SLA.
· You understand the security & scalability implications of running a multi-tenant application platform on Kubernetes.
· You have built scalable Ci/CD workflows in Gitlab or Github Actions that are reusable & easy to plug and play.
· Infrastructure-as-code, terraform is your only approach.
· Understanding of microservices and microservices based architectures.
· You have either working knowledge or understand the benefits and limitations of a service mesh like Istio, linkerd etc.
· Have lead a small engineering team and are willing to mentor and train junior engineers on your team.
